The Blacknest Seniors Section is open to any member of the Blacknest Golf Club who are aged 55 or above. The section matches are played weekly on Monday mornings. Members enter their names for the weekly matches/competitions and the duty officer for the day selects teams/playing partners. Thus members will play with different partners each week and will soon get to know all section members.
In addition the section organises inter-club matches, played principally throughout the summer, and all members can sign up to play in these matches. The final team for each match is selected by the Inter-Club Competition Secretary.
Trips are also organised to other golf clubs both within the UK and abroad. These are usually of 4/5 days duration.
The emphasis of the seniors section is to create an environment where matches are serious but fun and where all members get to know one another in the shortest possible time scale.
